CUWLA appoints new Director of Strategy and Engagement
Corlinda Wooden joins the CUWLA team, bringing consultative expertise to better support the women CEOs who primarily run smaller credit unions.
CUWLA is thrilled to formally announce the appointment of Corlinda Wooden as our new director of strategy and engagement.
The role was created to ensure alignment between CUWLA’s focus on fostering a vibrant network of empowered female leaders, and our commitment to sustainable growth, increased visibility, and systemic impact across the credit union movement.
“This is an important step for CUWLA,” said Executive Director, Linda White. “Yes, there are other initiatives for smaller and growing credit unions, but CUWLA is the only professional community focused on supporting the women CEOs who primarily lead those organizations—representing around 50 percent of all credit union CEOs in the country.
“Corlinda’s appointment will only strengthen our ability to provide a safe space for those women to connect, collaborate, and champion positive change for the system as a whole, and the millions of members we serve.”
Wooden, recently named one of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Credit Unions, brings a wealth of experience to CUWLA, having held leadership roles at a trade association, credit union, multiple consulting organizations, and Filene Research Institute over the past 25 years.
“CUWLA is more than a network—it’s a force for change.,” Wooden added. “I’m honored to help shape the strategy and deepen the engagement of women who are not only leading credit unions, but redefining the future of the movement.”
