Jenny Hamilton | VP of Operations, Tarrant County’s Credit Union 

Jenny Hamilton was 19 when she joined her local credit union.

At the time, she was simply looking for what she describes as a “grown-up job.” She didn’t realize it would become the start of a career spanning more than 26 years.

Today, Jenny is Vice President of Operations at Tarrant County’s Credit Union, a $122 million credit union serving more than 11,000 members in Fort Worth, Texas. She oversees branches, eServices, and the contact center, while also leading new products and services that support the credit union’s mission of helping members and the wider community.

“I feel blessed to have found a family of other passionate credit union advocates that keep our industry thriving,” she says. “I enjoy helping others and the credit union purpose aligns with my personal values.”

Stability matters

Growing up, Jenny’s family moved between 25 and 30 times as her father’s career took them to different places around the country.

Looking back, she says those experiences shaped the person and leader she is today.

“Stability became extremely important to me in adulthood, creating a foundation for growth and balance at home and work.”

That perspective continues to influence her leadership, whether she’s supporting employees, introducing new services, or helping her credit union better serve its members.

Continuing to grow

With her CEO, Lily Newfarmer, one of CUWLA’s founding members, Jenny had seen firsthand the support and opportunities the organization creates for women leaders.

Joining CUWLA Rise felt like a natural next step.

“Being able to join CUWLA Rise was an excellent opportunity to continue to learn and grow with the support of other like-minded women in the movement.”

As her career continues to evolve, Jenny sees learning as something that never really stops and values being part of a community where women can share ideas, experiences, and encouragement along the way.

Home, family and football

Ask Jenny what she enjoys outside of work and family comes first.

She loves reading, watching movies, and spending time together, whether that’s cheering on football, baseball, or softball, or planning the next family vacation. Summer usually means the beach, while winter is reserved for skiing.
